Here's a book you should look for if you're interested in a life of blind girls in other countries. Gohar Cordi talks about her life as a blind Girl in the Irane. As a girl, you're already something unimportant, but as a blind girl - in this book you can see what difficulties this blind girl has and what she made of it in the end!

Insele I sampled some of her work on Amazon and what struck me most was the bitterness Kordi still feels towards her mother,it was truly vitriolic,ok she had a point, but to harbour such hatred for so long is far from healthy.

Yeah, I agree, but the book is still good though. And her mother really treated her badly so I can partially understand that bitterness of hers.

I suppose Kordi used the book as a catharsis but to plough through that level of persistent bitterness,in a book, would become very difficult after a while...

Well, you might be right, but the book's not all about her mother. It's about herself, and that's what counts. I agree with you on the point with her mother but the reas is really great, for example how she got the strength to do it all on her own - get away from her parents, write letters to the minister, find a school, do it all in five years and study psychology then. I think it#s quite impressive what a strong will she has.
